The City of Cerritos (90703), in Los Angeles County, was originally incorporated in the 1950s as Dairy Valley because of its more than 400 dairies.
With urbanization after the 1960s came later development into housing neighborhoods and commercial zones, town hall complex, performing arts center, a major mall, public libraries and recreational development.
Several homeowner associations with about 200 units and more include Sundance, with 190 patio units, some including single-story townhomes for the end units; Tiburon, with pools and greenbelt for about 200 units; tile-roofed Concord townhomes having about 90 units. A large complex of about 535 units just south of 166th is made up of smaller units but also affordable especially for small families or first-time buyers.
There are also several senior condo complexes serving those 55 and over.
