(Feb 2010) 2009 Housing Market Wrapup from California Association of Realtors:
Sales were strong in December, increasing 23.7 percent year-to-date, 4 percent month-over-month, and 1.7 percent since December 2008.
The median price declined 21.1 percent to $274,960; however, the rate of decrease was less than the 37.8 percent decline in 2008.
2010 Forecast
The median home price in California is predicted to increase to 3.3 percent to $280,000 in 2010. Sales for 2010 may decrease by 2.3 percent to 527,500 units, compared with the projected total of 540,000 units in 2009. Remember, median price predictions for the state as a whole may not be the same as the actual average price in your area.
