This Long Beach neighborhood is one of many areas developed by Cliff May, a home builder of many architectural designs.  He was also a descendant of an early Spanish family who loved the courtyard layouts of early California haciendas.

The Ranchos houses have a loyal following who enjoy being part of a mid-20th century era.
